Notting Hill Site, Temporary Works

Location: West London

HLS provided the temporary works, design and detailing for this project for the removal of all internal walls and floors to all levels, whilst retaining the stone stair core, external walls and existing roof. The design provided by HLS supported the remaining elements during demolition and construction.

Woolbeding Boat House, River Rother

Location: West Sussex

This bespoke boat house required HLS to design both the sub-structure and super-structure. The super-structure is an oak timber frame. The sub-structure required the retention of the river Rother.

Residential Side Extension, Hendon

Location: North London

For this project, the full length of the flank wall was opened up to create a large family space with a glazed roof to bring light into the area. HLS provided the structural design for the long span pre-loaded steel and also the temporary works to allow installation of that steel.

Sainsbury’s Local

Location: Strand, London

This project was a refurbishment of an existing retail unit as part of the 40 Strand development works.

HLS involvement consisted of providing openings for a goods lift to service the lower level, remodelling of the existing staircase and the addition of many service penetrations. Sainsbury’s required the retail space to be ‘live’ in a short period of time and we were able to visit the site and prepare calculations and details to meet the tight construction programme.

Lost Jungle Adventure Golf

Location: Edgware, Middlesex

HLS provided the structural steelwork design to enable the construction of the large features in this new jungle-themed golf course. Steel framing was used to support the architectural finishes.

Crystal Maze, London

Location: Angel, London

For this exciting project, HLS provided the structural design to help convert the existing building from an educational establishment into the London Crystal Maze Experience. Most importantly, the project had to ensure the loadings for the large Crystal Dome!
